These whole house iron filters use green sand to trap iron and other contaminants before entering the home. This green sand filter media, matched with either our Clack or Fleck brand control system, will ensure consistant removal of iron, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor)and maganese, without the trouble of mannual regeneration. No need to handle chemicals as often, just fill the chemical reservior with Potassium Permanganate and the automatic valve will do the rest. Re-fill reservior when chemical is exhausted. 

The green sand is a high quality, high capacity filtration media. Potassium Permanganate is used to regenerate the green sand media bed. The Potassium Permanganate is used for a oxidation reaction, but the green sand itself remains unchanged. A simple backwash initiated by one of our automatic control valves, and the filter bed is clean of coagulated matter. Automatic valves are either controlled by a timer or a flow meter to ensure proper regeneration intervals for your iron media bed.
