Granular activated carbon/charcoal is designed for the reduction of unwanted tastes, odors and dissolved organic compounds present in water supplies. The carbon we offer is manufactured from select grades of coconut shell coal to produce a high density, durable granular product.

One of the most common applications for activated carbon is in the reduction of undesireable tastes and odors present in chlorinated municipal and industrial water supplies. The end product is clean, fresh, water with no objectionable taste and odor characteristics.

Carbon/Charcoal filter systems requires periodic backwashing to eliminate accumulated suspended matter and to re-grade the filter bed. Carbon beds must be changed annually when filter bed losses the capacity for reduction of taste and odor. Properly maintained activated carbon systems should impart a high "polish" to the filtered water.
